Some people like this for:

Newborns(built in insert!), hip carries, sharing with another adult. Simple design. Quick back carries.

Some people don't like this: 
Bulky, shoulder straps are not always a good fit for back carries if you're petite, padding. 
Buckles/webbing may put pressure on adults breast tissue in the early days. 
the panel is often outgrown before baby reaches the maximum weight.
