Some people like this for:

Back carries, hip carries, sharing with another adult. Simple design. Versatility, packability, colour, extra long straps.

Some people don't like this: 
They can be hard to fold, long straps can get in the way. No shoulder padding, bit of a learning curve. Not recommended for newborns.
The panel is often outgrown before baby reaches the maximum weight.
